THINGS TO DO:
Playing hockey outdoors is a great way to feel like a kid again. Remember those hockey pads secured with duct tape? Can you hear the sound of your blades on ice? The wind is in your face as you race for the net. The crack of your slapshot can likely be heard for miles. Relive it all at the annual Alberta Pond Hockey Championships in northern Alberta, where up to 80 teams of four come together from all over the province in fierce competition. And if you’ve never seen hockey played without a goalie you’re in for a huge treat.
