THINGS TO DO:
Northern Lights & Dark Sky
Prepare to be blown away by the sheer number of heavenly bodies visible with the naked eye in Jasper National Park. In the night sky, you can easily see the spine of the Milky Way, planets and countless constellations. That’s because there is no light interference here in the world’s second largest dark sky preserve. An excellent time to visit is during the Jasper Dark Sky Festival in October. Gaze through fat telescopes to see the rings of Saturn and faraway galaxies. Take part in an interactive astronomy presentation. Learn the secrets of night photography. The kids can try rocket launching and create their own constellations.
