Come With Me

Hear the soft swish of your skis cutting brand new lines in feather-light powder. With each turn, an arc of snow shoots up as you fly down the tree-lined slope in the morning sunshine. The frost glitters on the evergreens, against a backdrop of white peaks ablaze in the sunshine.

The Canadian Rocky Mountains are one of the few places on earth blessed with the conditions that create the light, airy powder revered by skiers and boarders worldwide. And Alberta has one of the longest ski seasons on the planet. Most of the mountain park resorts are open the first week of November through late April, even into May. Conquer the downhill scene or go by snow cat or helicopter to the backcountry, where pure virgin runs await. Boarders strut their stuff on the rails, boxes, jibs and jumps of the terrain parks.

Where to find deep powder

For a fresh take on the downhill experience, try

  • The snow tubing parks – with Magic Carpet tows to take you and your inner tube back to the top.
  • Snowshoeing – enjoy the silence of the surrounding forests
  • Après-ski – unwind in the lodge, rejuvenate in a natural hot spring, then hit the night spots with your new best friends.
