This walking tour of downtown Drumheller lets visitors explore 100 years of history in 90 minutes. But it does much more, too. That’s because owner-operator Lothar Malmberg is adamant that Drumheller is Alberta’s most actively haunted town. So guests will learn about the past, but they might also have an otherworldly encounter. The group tours go Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, beginning on the May long weekend. Guests can join the tour by meeting up with Malmberg in front of the Napier movie theatre at 7:45 p.m. (You’ll know him when you see him; just look for the beard and top hat.) The tour is geared toward all ages (kids under 6 are free) and any size group. Drumheller Guided Ghost Walk also offers cemetery tours. These are group tours and must be booked in advance. Whatever tour you take, you’ll learn about local history. You might even have an encounter that can’t be easily explained.
