Midland Provincial Park

The most famous tenant of Midland Provincial Park is the Royal Tyrrell Museum. But once you get your fill of fossils and fascinating facts, you should stick around and take in everything the park has to offer. The disc-golf course gives you the chance to test your skills amid the otherworldly landscape of the Canadian Badlands. Bring your own discs and be aware of natural hazards like cacti, washouts and slippery slopes. Explore the area’s mining history at the Midland Coal Mining Company Office, which preserves an important chapter in Alberta’s mining history. You can view artifacts and walk the interpretive trail to learn more. The McMullen Island Day Use Area is a popular spot for picnics and the paved trail provides an easy stroll. About the only thing you won’t find in Midland Provincial Park is a place to stay. This is a day-use area only, so plan accordingly.
