Find year-round fun in Sheep River Provincial Park in beautiful Kananaskis Country. The park straddles the Rocky Mountains to the west and the foothills to the east. That means it offers the best of both worlds. The park has excellent trails for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. The crystal clear Sheep River is a good spot for fishing and whitewater paddling. The park’s 10 day-use areas are ideal spots to relax or enjoy a picnic before resuming your explorations. Sheep River Provincial Park also has four campgrounds for those who want to extend their stay. Visit the Sheep River Administration and Information Centre to get tips on things to see and do. The campgrounds close in winter, but the park remains a popular spot. There’s ice skating and 37 km (23 mi) of groomed cross-country trails at Sandy McNabb Campground.
