Did you know: the Aero Space Museum Association of Calgary was registered as a non-profit charitable organization on November 17, 1975? That makes 2024 their 49th anniversary! Tickets are available online at the door. Join them for 15 minute presentations throughout the day, an artifact handling station, and a 45 minute presentation on the development of the aviation community in Calgary (this was so popular for Historic Calgary Week, that they're offering it again as part of this event!) Trailblazers: The Men and Women Who Brought Flight to Calgary, explore the lives and legacies of the people who pioneered flight in Calgary. From Katherine Stinson's epic mail run, to Fred McCall’s failed municipal airport, and to Tom Ellis’ West Wind, we will dive into the beginning of Calgary’s aviation community and the people who laid the foundation for our international airport. This talk will take place at 11:30am on Saturday Nov 16, and 2:00pm on Sunday Nov 17.
