Annual Songbird Festival

Join them for a celebration of spring migration and the arrival of the beautiful songbirds back to the boreal forest. Situated at the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation in Lesser Slave Lake Provincial Park, this local birding festival hosts a wide range of activities for birders, nature lovers and families alike. Start off the morning with the early morning pancake breakfast, then head out on a guided birding walk with some of their favourite birders. There will also be special tours of the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory where you can experience their avian monitoring programs and learn more about these tiny migratory marvels. Then finish up the day with nature workshops, bird house building and lots of hands-on activities for the entire family.
