Balloon Day

The Hangar Flight Museum opens a new exhibit Up, Up and Away. This exhibit discusses the history and theory of hot air balloon flying, explains the anatomy of the balloon, and celebrates the accomplishments of a pioneering female balloon pilot Joan Martin. The Hangar will host a Balloon Day with balloon trailers, baskets, and pilots on site, crafts for air-minded kids, presentations at 11 am and 1 pm, and a panel discussion with seasoned hot air balloon pilots at 2 pm. The exhibit will be officially opened at noon. Come and witness the magic of hot air balloon flying! This event is organized in collaboration with the Calgary Balloon Club.
