The Alberta Legislature Building is one of the most iconic historic buildings in downtown Edmonton. Opened in 1912, it is a marvel of marble pillars and carved oak, beautiful Beaux-Arts architecture, and stunning grounds. Free tours of the Legislature are available, registration is required. The Legislative Assembly Visitor Centre is located on the main floor of the Queen Elizabeth II Building, just north of the Legislature. The Visitor Centre is home to the Borealis Gallery, Capital Gifts and café, Democracy Discovery Centre and Pehonan Theatre. Please visit the website for more information on hours and tour registration.*Please note, due to construction on the Legislature grounds, the pools and fountains are currently closed. The fountains on the Violet King Henry Plaza remain open.
