Astotin Lake Campground puts campers in the heart of the great outdoors without a long journey. The campground is 63 km (40 mi) east of Edmonton in Elk Island National Park. The campground has 75 unserviced sites, including 15 sites for walk-in tenting. There are also five oTENTiks, comfort-camping structures maintained by Parks Canada. Each campsite includes a picnic table, raised gravel camping area and a fire pit. (Firewood can be purchased at the Visitor Centre.) The Visitor Centre can also help you find things to do in the park. The campground is close to Astotin Lake, which is popular for swimming and paddling. Sandy Beach lives up to its name and is a spectacular place to watch sunsets and starry skies. Astotin Lake Campground is close to a soccer field, a playground, a golf course and a theatre that operates in July and August.
