Buffalo Lake is a large body of water in central Alberta, and its size easily accommodates all types of recreation. The lake is popular among anglers, paddlers, water skiers, sailors and swimmers. Buffalo Lake Campground is a great place to park your RV or pitch a tent. It’s about 105 km (65 mi) northeast of Red Deer along major roads. The 28 unserviced campsites are suitable for RVs and tents. All sites have fire pits, and firewood is sold at the campground. The campground also has a sandy beach and a designated swimming area. A hand-launch site makes getting canoes and other small boats into the water easy. Other amenities include a playground and a cook shelter. Water is available from a hand pump, but bringing water is strongly recommended.
