Built on a reclaimed coal mine, Coal Creek Golf Resort offers golfers a challenging and memorable experience. It’s also an eye-catching layout that features the only black sand traps in Alberta. Some of the former mine’s buildings and equipment have been incorporated into the layout. The 18-hole championship course is one of the province’s best. It’s about 90 km (56 mi) southeast of Edmonton. Coal Creek offers men’s, ladies’ and couples’ nights that include golf and a meal. The RV resort has 74 serviced sites (50 amp) that accommodate RVs up to 15 m (50 ft). The sites feature gravel pads and picnic tables. They can be booked for daily, weekly or, for those who really want to work on their golf game, monthly use. Amenities include flush toilets, showers, a playground and a laundromat. Pets are welcome, and Wi-Fi is also available.
