Fish Creek Provincial Park provides an opportunity to explore nature without leaving the city, and it also happens to be one of the largest urban parks in North America. The park sits in southern Calgary. From east to west, it stretches 19 km (12 mi), so it’s not hard to find. The park includes a Visitor Centre with a theatre and exhibits to help travellers get their bearings. And with more than 80 km of trails to hike and cycle, it’s best to know what you want to see. Fish Creek Provincial Park is also home to the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre, where the Friends of Fish Creek offers programs and tours. The Sikome Aquatic Facility, an artificial lake, is great for families looking to beat the heat. Hungry? Annie's Café is a casual spot to grab a coffee or a baked treat, while the historic Bow Valley Ranche Restaurant offers upscale dining.
