Fish Lake Campground is the only campground in the Fish Lake Provincial Recreation Area, about 8.5 km (5 mi) west of Nordegg on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rockies. The campground is open from early May to early October and provides more than 100 sites — including serviced, unserviced, waterfront and pull-through. All sites are spacious, and most are surrounded by trees. Campers will also enjoy the cookhouse and fire pits. (Firewood can be purchased onsite.) As the name suggests, Fish Lake is a great spot for fishing year-round. In summer, it also attracts paddlers. (Only power boats with electric motors are allowed on the lake.) Hiking trails let visitors get back to nature, and the area is also popular among trail runners and mountain bikers. Winter attracts cross-country skiers.
