The Flatiron Building is an integral part of the landscape of Lacombe and Central Alberta. As one of the most recognizable architectural structures, built in 1904, it is the older of remaining flatiron buildings that exist in Alberta. Today the Flatiron Building is operated by the Lacombe & District Historical Society as an accredited museum and offers the community unique experiences year-round through exhibits, hosting evening events, and a locally sourced artisan gift store and old-fashioned candy shop. Admission is by donation, with a suggested rate of $10/person. The Flat Iron Museum also features rotating exhibits for the public on the history and culture of the City of Lacombe and the region of Central Alberta. If you're visiting the City and are hoping to find out more about what makes the region unique and interesting this may be the best place to start. Come to the Museum to find out more about indigenous pre-colonial history, Metis influence, or even just come hang out!
