The Galt Museum & Archives | Akaisamitohkanao'pa, overlooking the beautiful Oldman River Valley in Lethbridge, pays tribute to the people, places, and industries of southern Alberta. The quirky and bold, larger-than-life displays in the permanent gallery are a nod to the area’s storied past. From collieries and breweries to bison and Blackfoot, the colorful replicas of iconic structures make for an entertaining history lesson for all ages. Visiting with little ones? Ask for a treasure hunt at guest services to help facilitate the learning experience for kids. After touring the inside galleries, plan to spend some time exploring the gardens and outdoor play-based learning spaces. The Galt is open year-round. See the website for hours and days of operation.
