Experience a jaw-dropping view of Milk River when you approach Gold Springs Park. The dramatic drop reveals a gorgeous campground on a reservoir that inhabits ducks, geese and the classic Canadian symbol—a beaver. Rent a paddle boat or canoe; if you’re hungry, fish for your dinner in the water stocked with rainbow trout. Bountiful trees shade the tent and RV sites, and the green space boasts two large playgrounds with impressive play structures. The kids may opt for volleyball or put on a spontaneous show on the nearby stage. That said, it will be hard to keep them—or yourself—out of the water, off the water slides and away from the sandy beaches. And when the family dog needs to run, a quick walk up the hill opens into acres and acres of space. This well-cared-for campground has 70 sites (most with power), rental cabins, showers, firewood and kitchens with stoves. Gold Springs Park is 99 km (62 mi) southeast of Lethbridge on AB-4, 10 km (6 mi) north of the Canada/U.S. border.
