Don’t let the name fool you—Little Bow Provincial Park offers big fun. The park is a summertime hotspot. It sits on the northwestern shore of the Travers Reservoir near Vulcan in southern Alberta. A sandy beach draws visitors who want to soak up the sun or enjoy the water, while the reservoir is great for fishing, swimming, paddling and water skiing. Fishing boats and paddleboards are available for rent, and a reliable breeze draws sailors and windsurfers. Visitors can also enjoy another sandy beach on the nearby Little Bow Reservoir. The park offers plenty of action for bird watchers since peregrine falcons have nested along the western arm of the Travers Reservoir. The Little Bow Campground has 224 sites and lets visitors enjoy everything on offer at the provincial park. In winter, the park is a popular spot for ice fishing, and the day-use area is open year-round.
