At the south end of Grizzly Street, you’ll find the final resting place of more than 2,000 Banff residents, including historic figures like Tom Wilson (who discovered Lake Louise) and the artists Peter and Catharine Whyte. Wander through the old cemetery, which dates back to 1888, and you’ll find old tombstones made of local stone and depicting images like golfers, horses, and cross-country ski tracks. The oldest grave marker is for baby Adelia M. Woodworth, who died in 1890. The grounds are also home to the Brett Mausoleum (built in 1914) and The Rawlins Monument (also built in 1914).
