The Paddle River Dam provides a serene spot in the heart of Alberta for water sports and hiking. It’s a perfect spot for nature lovers to spend the day or set up camp. Put your canoe or motorboat in at the boat launch for a day of summer play. If you catch a fish, head back to the fish cleaning station at the campground and prepare your dinner. The recently expanded Paddle River Dam Campground has powered (30 amp) and non-powered sites with picnic tables, a modern shower house, flush toilets, and firewood available for purchase. If you like to get outside with friends, there are sites large enough to accommodate groups. Feel free to bring your pets; they’re welcome, too. Located in the County of Lac Ste Anne, it’s easy to dip into the town of Mayerthorpe and the hamlet of Rochfort Bridge for forgotten supplies. To get to the campground, drive 130 km (81 mi) northwest of Edmonton.
