Discover machinery and the day-to-day rural life of Western Canada at one of the largest agricultural and industrial museums in Alberta! The Pioneer Acres of Alberta Museum houses an extensive collection of antique tractors, trucks, engines and steam equipment. You can also see working blacksmith and wheelwright shops, a steam building with a vertical boiler and two steam engines, a farmhouse from 1914 and a one-room schoolhouse. At their annual show in August, you can see equipment from as early as 1910 running as it did back in the day, driving in parades, powering threshing machines, and more! The museum consists of more than 20 buildings, 50 acres of land, and 3 official clubs calling the grounds home. You can check out their blacksmiths making nails and horseshoes, see the only replica beef ring in Alberta, watch wheelwrights repair wagon wheels, see some of the earliest powered washing machines, or watch a giant steam tractor chug by like it did when it was new, Pioneer Acres is certainly a place where history comes alive
