Entering Canmore, you’re sure to notice the Big Head sculpture. From here, you can start the stunningly scenic 4 km (2 mi) boardwalk alongside Policeman’s Creek. The walk is a popular, picturesque delight—a gem of nature—right in downtown Canmore. Listen for songbirds as you take in the spectacular peaks looming nearby. Lower your gaze and take in the beauty of the forest. Drop your gaze a little lower still to the pond, where ducks are swimming by. Keep your eyes keen for elk or deer. This is an easy route that works for all skill levels at any time of year. Besides the Big Head sculpture starting place, there are multiple entry points, so you can adjust the length of your walk according to your needs. You can also pause to relax on a bench along the way for an extended look at the peaks of the Three Sisters, Ha Ling, and Mount Rundle. The Policeman’s Creek boardwalk connects with the town’s extensive trail system, so you can add a few more kilometres if you like.
