Red Deer Lake Park offers fun in the sun and the chance to sleep under the stars. The campground has 20 unserviced sites and operates on a first-come, first-served basis. An attendant is available to answer any questions, and firewood is available for an additional fee. The campground sits on the shores of Red Deer Lake, about 40 km (25 mi) south of Wetaskiwin in central Alberta. The lake is a summer playground for anglers, power boaters, sailors and paddlers. A boat launch makes it easy for campers to set sail, get their engines running or start paddling. The campground hosts various special events, including outdoor movie nights (with free snacks) and an annual rib cookoff. Of course, it also offers special events like great sunsets and warm evenings by the fire throughout the summer.
