Campers come to Rock Lake Campground 77 km (48 mi) northwest of Hinton to enjoy the great outdoors and to venture further into it. The latter group are those who use Rock Lake as a staging ground for excursions into the Wildland and Willmore Wilderness Park. For those adventurous types, the campground has four large equestrian sites with corrals and 14 smaller equestrian sites with one corral, tie stalls and pens. For those who want to explore the area around Rock Lake, there are 108 unserviced sites and 11 sites for walk-in tenting. The area offers great views and excellent fishing, mountain biking, boating and hiking. The campground features a boat launch, fire pits, a cooking shelter and fish-cleaning stations. Firewood is available, but campers are advised to bring their own drinking water.
