Rocky Mountain Fly Shop is located in Mountain View County in the town of Olds, Alberta. Their shop offers a great selection of fly fishing and tying equipment and supplies. Their home waters are the upper and middle Red Deer River and her tribs but you will also find them fishing the mountain rivers and lakes of West Central Alberta's Eastern Slopes. Their guided trips include food and non-alcoholic beverages as well as transportation to and from Olds if requested. All prices include up to two anglers. Rods, waders, flies, rigging, and all required equipment are supplied and included in the cost of your trip. On walk and wades they target Browns, Bulls, and Brookies on the upper section of the Red Deer River and Clearwater River systems. They also offer trips on the tailwater section of the Red Deer River that give anglers the opportunity to present to many species of fish including Northern Pike, Walleye, and Goldeye just to name a few. The areas they fish on the walk and wade trips are located on the eastern slopes in central Alberta in Freestone sections of the Clearwater and Red Deer Rivers close to their cold headwaters in the mountains. They offer a unique opportunity to target some of Alberta's native and wild trout on a couple of beautiful mountain-fed rivers systems. There are always opportunities to hook into big Browns and Bulls and they typically encounter their share of Rockies and Brookies along the way. If you are looking to fish some beautiful water and go after some of West Central Alberta's Bulls and Browns then give them a call. They are more than happy to take you out for a great day of fly fishing under the mountains. If you are looking for a multi-day trip there are a few options for accommodations and camping nearby and they also offer overnight trips on the Red. Fishing licenses and guide gratuity are not included in the price of your trip. Please be aware that Rocky Mountain Fly Shop is a strictly catch-and-release guide service.
