Roland on the River sits on the banks of the Lesser Slave River. This gives the campground and marina an enviable location close to the town of Slave Lake and just upstream from Slave Lake itself. It’s easy for campers to head into town to replenish supplies or to grab a meal. It’s also pretty easy to get your boat out of the marina and onto the waters of the lake, which offers excellent fishing and sailing. The area also offers golfing, bike trails and a great beach. Roland on the River has seasonal sites and sites that can be booked by the day. The sites have power and great river views. The campground features shower houses, water delivery, fish-cleaning stations and boat rentals. There is also a cabin and an RV that can be rented by those without an RV. The campground is owned and operated by Roland and Betty, who are something of an attraction in themselves. Certainly, people return year after year for the warm welcome they receive.
