You’ll find the Royal Alberta Museum in Edmonton’s downtown Arts District. You can’t miss it. It’s Western Canada’s largest museum and encompasses 419,000 square feet. he RAM has been around since 1967 but moved into its current location in 2018. The state-of-the-art facility houses 5.1 million objects and an equal number of stories. It hosts exhibitions, outreach and learning programs. Its collections include archeology, military and government history, and Indigenous engagement. The latter has particularly strong holdings related to the Plains Cree, Blackfoot, Dene and Métis. There are large collections devoted to earth sciences and life sciences. The Daily Life and Leisure and Labour and Industry collections give visitors a sense of life in the province over the years. The museum is closed on Mondays.
