A crazy idea born in a garage with friends. They motivated each other back then and eventually their passion and hard work materialized into a full blown business. They continue to hold themselves accountable and to a higher standard than the rest. Experimenting and learning every day. It's quite the process, but it's their journey and they wouldn't change a thing. They hope you enjoy their beer, manifested from crazy ideas and lots of love. A taproom-focused brewery, specializing in small-batch craft beer. Light, Dark, Sour and Wild, they are exploring all things craft beer! All of this is made possible by their local Alberta farmers who provide them with the world's best barley, right out of their own backyard. Sawback represents the origin of the Red Deer River, their city's water source. Every brewery needs water, and every river has a story. The Red Deer River's story begins in the Canadian Rockies on the Sawback Mountain Range. That's where their water comes from, and that's what goes into their beer.
