This mountain getaway is tucked into the wilderness 23 km (14 mi) north of Grande Cache. Despite the backcountry location, the hike into the cabins is not too arduous. Visitors can park just off Highway 40 and then cross a few foot bridges over Sheep Creek to the trail that leads to the backcountry lodge. Don’t worry about packing in your gear; staff from the lodge will bring it in on an ATV. Upon arrival, guests will find clean and cozy cabins with running water and LED and solar-powered lights. Each cabin has a wood stove to keep things warm on cold nights. The kitchens are stocked with dishes and cookware, a propane stove, a fridge and a freezer. You just need to bring your food. Once you get settled, relax on the deck or head out for adventure. The hiking and fishing are great, and the area teems with birds and wildlife
