Skoki Lodge is an experience you’ll be lucky to enjoy once in your lifetime, but you’ll want to return — in any season. Ski the 11 km (7 mi) into the lodge in winter or hike up in the summer. Both are exquisite. The extraordinary staff will greet you with snacks when you arrive, and they continue to feed and treat you royally during your stay. The old Ski Club of the Canadian Rockies built the rustic lodge in 1930, and the newer cabins are equally charming. Down comforters and flannel sheets make your room cozy, and you’ll find your way around in the dark with kerosene lamps or flashlights. Hike around Skoki Lodge in the summer among beautiful alpine flowers and towering peaks. During winter, skiers of all abilities find ski touring and telemarking slopes and cross-country routes. You can access the trailhead to this incredible National Historic Site east of the village of Lake Louise in the summer and from the Lake Lousie Ski Resort in the winter.
