Sunnybrook is a tiny hamlet in central Alberta, about 50 km (31 mi) west of Leduc. The Sunnybrook Hotel & Bar, however, is the big, beating heart of the community. It’s a popular spot among the 50 or so residents of Sunnybrook. But it sits right on Highway 39, making it a convenient stop for those doing a little motorcycle touring in the area. The menu features burgers, wraps and sandwiches. You’ll also find wings, dry ribs, poutine and salad. Of course, there’s also beer on tap to wash it all down. The ‘Brook, as it’s known to its many fans, also features special events. These include everything from paint nights to pig roasts to, most memorably, a PBR Canada bull-riding event. Grab a stool at the bar or watch the passing traffic from one of the picnic tables on the patio. Kids are welcome—they might like one of the tasty homemade desserts.
