Inuit on her mother’s side and Greek on her father’s, owner Sophia was raised in Arviat, Nunavut, a hamlet on the coast of the Hudson’s Bay. Her childhood was spent in Canada’s Arctic and Greece where from a young age her keen eye for art was developed. Her Inuit lineage is tied to many Master Works artists and she was raised in her father’s Artic art co-operative as a child and into her young adult years in her family galleries in Lake Louise, Banff, and Victoria. Sophia is Canada’s first Inuk Inuit art gallery owner. Her gallery, Transformation Fine Art, is located in downtown Calgary’s historic Grain Exchange Building. In 2019, Sophia became a member of the Board of Directors with Calgary Arts Development. Transformation Fine Art specializes in Master Works of Inuit and First Nations art, is an individually tailored experience for a variety of collectors with any budget. Sophia also appraises, consults on private collections, and welcomes speaking engagements on her life in Canada’s art scene. By appointment only.
