The railway played a key role in unifying Canada and opening the West to travellers and homesteaders. In fact, many landmarks in our national parks are named after surveyors who found the route through the mountains and out to the Pacific Ocean. You can experience a little of that history by travelling to the Rockies on VIA Rail, Canada’s national rail service. But, while getting in touch with history, you’ll travel with modern comforts like ergonomic seats, free Wi-Fi and good food. Of course, you'll also have a front row seat to admire the landscape. So sit back, relax and take in the prairie scenery and mountain views on the five-hour ride between Edmonton and the town of Jasper. The Jasper train station is downtown, so you’ll make a stylish entrance and be right in the heart of the action.
