This pristine gem is well worth searching out when you’re in Jasper National Park. You’ll find it tucked away off Highway 93A alongside the Athabasca River. Wabasso serves as a good starting area for people heading into the backcountry on overnight treks. Those sticking to the front country can use the campground as a base for day trips to Moab Lake and Athabasca Falls. The campground is best-suited for tents and motorhomes less than 8.5 m (27 ft) long. It has powered and unserviced sites, food lockers, kitchen shelters, a play area and firewood onsite. The heated bathrooms feature lights, flush toilets and hot and cold running water. Parks Canada interpreters also visit to share insights and information about the area. The town of Jasper is 16 km (10 mi) away if you need to stock up on supplies or grab a meal.
