The Wapiti Nordic Ski Club is one of Canada's premier cross-country skiing and biathlon facilities. It is home to the Steve Cooper Lodge which was completed in 1994 as one of the major legacies of the 1995 Canada Winter Games. There are over 35 km of trails for both classical and skate skiing, which includes the Weyerhaeuser Forest Trail. The club has the longest night skiing trail in Alberta - 4.5 km of lit trail. There is also a 5 km out-and-back snowshoe trail. The area also has two trails for those who love to ski with their dogs.
