Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association

Whitemud Equine Learning Centre Association (WELCA) is a non-profit society operating a 48-acre horse stable and show grounds in Edmonton's River Valley park system. With 60-70 horses onsite, WELCA is open year-round for visitors to see the horses. They offer community-based recreational riding lessons for ages 4 and up, summer camps, field trips, and tours at their indoor riding arena, where visitors can drop in to watch riders and greet the herd. The west end of the property features show grounds, including a grand prix grass ring for show jumping competitions, dog shows, and other events. Since 1974, WELCA has been home to the Little Bits Therapeutic Riding Association, which offers riding programs for children and adults with special needs. WELCA is conveniently located next to the river valley trail along the south side of the river.
