Among Alberta’s “big things in small towns” is the World’s Largest Lamp in Donalda, a small village with a population of just a few hundred. This 13-meter-high (43 ft) steel and fibreglass structure shines brightly every night, overlooking the Meeting Creek Coulee and the northern Canadian Badlands. Located 40 km from Stettler, across the street is the Lamp Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of oil lamps, with over 1,000 lamps dating back to the 1600s. Donalda also offers outdoor activities, including hiking and biking in the Canadian Badlands. The Willow Canyon trail covers 129 acres, from the coulee rim to the valley bottom. For a refreshing break, Buffalo Lake’s beach and campgrounds are just 49 km away.
