Alberta’s northernmost community is also one of its friendliest. Zama City sits in the northwest corner of the province, about 80 km (50 mi) north of High Level. But while it’s a small community, the 50 or so folks who call it home—the Zamanites—give big welcomes. The Zama City Campground is the perfect place to stay and get the most out of your visit. The 20 sites are ideal for RVs and feature power and water. Six of them are pull-through sites for maximum convenience. There are also two glamping cabins—the Wolf and the Biso—that are open year-round. Both feature comfy beds, a private deck and a barbecue. Campers will find coin-operated showers, a disc golf course, horseshoe pits and a picnic shelter. They may even catch a glimpse of the Hey-Zama wild bison herd, which has flourished since being reintroduced to the area in 1983.
