The Lake Minnewanka Cruise offers a perspective of the Canadian Rockies and the emerald-green water of the largest lake in Banff National Park. The boats are a great vantage point for admiring the waterfalls around the lake and spotting wildlife along the shore. The Classic Cruise takes about an hour, but various cruises are offered. Kids under 12 will enjoy the Junior Explorer Cruise with its treasure hunt and games, while adults can indulge in local craft brews on the Beer Voyage. Whichever cruise you select, you’ll also benefit from knowledgeable captains who explain the area’s history and geology. Cruises run from mid-May to mid-October. Guided fishing trips and boat rentals are also available at Lake Minnewanka, which is 10 km (6.2 mi) from the Banff townsite. Roam public transport stops at the lake throughout the summer season.
