It’s true that the Calgary Stampede takes over the whole city for 10 days every July. But for the duration of that hootin’ and hollerin’ good time, the beating heart of the party is Stampede Park. That’s where you’ll find the rodeo, agricultural competitions and exhibitions, and the midway with its hair-raising rides and tasty treats. But the beat goes on long after the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth wraps up. Stampede Park also features the BMO Centre, a newly expanded conference centre; the Agrium Western Event Centre, Canada’s largest agricultural showcase and competition space; and the Boyce Theatre, which hosts theatre and small concerts. It’s also home to the NHL's Calgary Flames of the NHL. In short, Stampede Park hums with year-round activity. It’s located just outside downtown Calgary and is well-serviced by public transit.
