Art Gallery of Alberta

You'll be immersed in art once that dramatic steel ribbon that wraps itself around the exterior of this cultural attraction is in sight. Situated in the heart of the Arts District downtown, visitors can discover historic, contemporary and touring exhibits on public tours or on your own.

You'll find more than shopping inside this mega mall. Though with 800 stores and restaurants, you likely won't leave empty handed. Go ice skating, hit the water slides, play a round of mini golf or hop on a rollercoaster – all under one roof.

Neon Sign Museum

The first of its kind in Canada, the outdoor Neon Sign Museum is flashy, fun and free. The City of Edmonton collected and restored these advertising gems turned art forms – now installed in the ICE District. Each vintage sign tells a tale of Edmonton's past and makes for a great selfie backdrop.

Elk Island National Park

Home to one of the highest densities of hoofed mammals in the world, Elk Island National Park is credited for bringing bison back from the brink. This fenced national park maintains herds of both plains and wood bison. Spot bison, plus elk and deer along the park’s hiking and driving trails.

Drive to Jasper National Park

Say farewell to Edmonton as you journey towards Jasper. It's an incredibly scenic drive through forests and jagged mountain peaks, so you'll want to budget plenty of time for impromptu photo sessions. Be sure to keep your eye out for wildlife as you make your way into the national park.

Jasper Planetarium

Jasper is one of the world's largest and best Dark Sky Preserves thanks to its clear, dark skies. Immersive experiences can be had inside the Planetarium Dome Theatre. Head outdoors for further cosmic exploration, peering through one of the largest, most powerful telescopes in the Rockies.

Wildlife Viewing

If you'd like to see wildlife, your best bet is with an expert guide. They know the local wildlife's favourite hiding and feeding spots. On your tour, you could come across deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, coyotes and even wolves. Be sure to have your camera ready for action.

Maligne Canyon Ice Walk

You'll be guided to the bottom of the Maligne Canyon - the deepest accessible canyon in Jasper National Park. From there, it's all about taking in the frozen waterfalls, ice caves and incredible ice formations. You'll also learn about Karst topography and the mystery of disappearing Medicine Lake.
